Pattern Drafting & Adaption
Pattern drafting and adaption is an essential skill to learn for making garments.

On this course learn the basics of block drafting to pattern adaption, starting with a little black dress
Day 1:
Overview of different pattern drafting methods and which industries use which methods.
Skills covered in Day 1:
-Take measurements
-Draft a basic dress block
-Draft a pattern from the block
-Adding necessary information to your pattern that will aid your making. such as the Straight grain, Balance points,
-Dart manipulation
-Ease
-Creating desired design lines, such as neck lines, dress hem design and length
-Splitting the pattern into a panelled dress for a better fit.
-Adding Seam allowances to your pattern.
Day 2:
-Using the skills learnt in day 1, students can choose a garment or shape they would like to draft in day 2.

-This course is for beginners and intermediate makers.
-Classes starts at 10:00 and finish at 16:00 with a 1 hour lunch at 13:00.
