Speed tailoring

  • Day 1:

    You will be handed a pre cut jacket bundle with everything you need to construct a jacket.

    -Thread making, interfacing all pieces

    -Welt pocket

    -Jet Pocket

    -Insert chest canvas

    -Tape the front edge, armhole, breakline

    Day 2:

    -Seam together body of jacket in parts

    -Seam together lining and facings in part

    -Bag out the front edge

    -Seam together the back vent

    -Seam together the side seams

    -Seam together the lining sides

    -Seam together the shoulders

    Day 3:

    -Insert shoulder pads

    -Insert sleeve roll

    -Construct collar and attach to jacket

    Day 4:

    -Construct sleeves

    -Attach sleeves to Jacket

    Day 5:

    -Hand finish sleeve lining and hem

    -Attach buttons

    -Button holes

    -Final Press and Steam

  • Course Details

    • This course is intermediate - advanced level, for people who can already sew but want to add to their skills. you will be expected to finish the jacket in 5 days

    • Classes start 10:00 and finish at 17:00 with an hour for lunch at 13:00

    • 6 Places available.

    • Materials and Tools Provided.

    • This course is taught in English.

  • £1000 per student. This includes course materials.

    Payment must be received within 24 hours of receipt of invoice. If not, your place on the course could be given away.

    None refundable on cancelation of course 1 week prior to the course.

  • The school and studio have recently moved.

    We are now located in Ardwick, tucked away behind Ardwick green. A ten minute walk from Manchester Piccadilly station and accessible by bus routes from Manchester and Stockport on the 192 bus service. Parking is available at the rear of the building or local street parking.
